Bits arrive for the Blue B......?

Here we are again tinkering with bikes. We brought Dan along this time because he knows a bit more than us. He seems to think we have a chance of getting these to Mongolia.


After some time on eBay I have managed to get myself some indicators, a new chain and sprocket and sprocket bushes, renthall handlebars and a very retro minimal speedo.

Here are three of the old sprocket bushes next to a new one. I think my bike has had a bit of a hard life! These, with the chain and sprocket and a check of the back brakes means that the back of the bike is ready to go.

Proper cheap and nasty indicators, they were white for about 10 seconds till our greasy hands got on them, oh well. We had to make our own spacers to fit them securely. One step closer to the MOT.

These are the cool bits, the handlebars and speedo, they work great and at least make me think that the bike is capable of a fairly large amount of offroad.


Still to get:- working carb, headlight brackets, fuel cap,  speedo cable, something to secure the battery and a luggage rack for the back. I think the electrics will need a fair amount of tinkering but these bikes are real simple so should be easy for us simple folk.


Dan, when are you getting a bike, you cant run alongside ALL the way!!!
