What a morning.

So agreement was made that I would go and get the bike for Tim from Wales. Saturday I had a rowing session in the morning and my friend Nev, with the van had a engagement of afternoon Tea in Bath with the inlaws . Apparently it wasn't really tea more like wine and a meal. Big thanks to Nev for getting up at 07-30 on a Saturday to go and get the bike. Off we went on a fresh/cold morning. The night before I slept over at Nev's following a few libations, the room had no door on it so no way of stopping the feline tenants from coming in the room and purring in your ear. So I got a fitful sleep with CG125 sounding cats sharing my bed. My hopes are that the CG125's purr is as consistent and sweet.
Off over the beautiful Severn Bridge and a £13 toll at the end for the pleasure. Campervans get to go across cheaper but you have to demonstrate a bed , sink and cooker to prove you are a camper. Nev has some of these, some of the time but tends to fit them in people's houses.
Arrived at the agreed time to purchase the bike. It was an Ebay purchase and the seller made no apologise for the condition. It looked shabby and re portably hadn't started for a while. I had the cash in hand and gave it over as per the terms of agreement. The lovely chap wished us luck in our adventure and the pony went up the single scaffold plank into the van.
We got back quicker than we went thanks to no need of GPS and a bacon sandwich homing radar...
I had a quick sit on Tim's bike and tried to connect some loose wires around the broken clocks to get it running. Not hopeful I checked I was in neutral and kicked it over. Wrrrraaah
It lives!!! It's going at full revs!!I'm panicking!!!! There is no front break leaver so stalling is difficult. For bike riders, I would need to put it in gear with the rear break on at the same time? Both feet off the ground on the flat? So I first tried grabbing undone the wires in the ignition. Ow Ba****rd! electric shock. Still running full revs Wrrraaah this is no purring cat this is a blown engine soon. Managed to stall it easier than I thought with the two feet up trick.
Fun over I walk away and tell Tim the good news. He will come up soon for first inspection.
Think I might have found my bike from Bike Hut. I will let you know how this goes. J
