Myself and Tim had a few beers the night before and discussed the alphabet beer challenge; more on this later. We went in convoy across Bournemouth, Tim on his 125cc Yamaha and me on the 600cc, apparently I was a bit frustrating to ride with and didn't make allowances for the pokeyness off Tim's trusted steed. Tim repeated several times that he's looking forward to seeing me on a smaller bike, something about a even playing field.
We made it on our first joint venture unscathed and met with Dan. First time I've met Dan and he is a very cool cat. I think he might end up being the brains of the outfit; no offence Tim. So onto the task in hand, plan a trip on Cg125's to Mongolia! Right!....
I won't give the where with alls of the break down of the task, I will say that none of us broke down in floods of tears. We decided on charities, Ann Conroy Trust as my niece has Chiari Malformation and The Christina Noble Foundation who help Mongolian Orphans. We decided a route which was based on distance and also passing through countries that will let us keep our vital body parts together. This did rule out Iran which is a shame and I was told this is a trip I need to be doing separately, as a trip in itself, by myself ! The distance has been kept to around 10000 miles which means about 300miles a day. Cool cat Dan seemed to recoil a little at this propose distance through desert sand. He might be onto something!!!
We decided on the bikes and the spares that would be needed, a full kit list will be put up later.
